The first vines are planted! Ten of solaris and 10 of Pinot Noir. In only 3 years (??) I can start to tread the grapes. Now I realise that only 20 vines is not exactly taking on Barossa Valley. However, I want to see how they settle in to the ground first. Great Fun. It was really nice out there. However, half way through the morning it did occur to me that planting 800, which is the eventual plan if all goes well is a bit of a task.

Eldest has appeared and is enjoying his sailing course. At present his plans seem to include turning the house into a sort of centre for friends from the States - which sound great. We hope Donna will be with us sometime, but he (eldest that is) is trying to sort his Offshore Skipper course out, so we suspect it will all be a bit sudden!!!
